November 2006 Danvers Disaster

"Chemical Explosion Devastates Danvers Neighborhood"

Modular America Construction Corporation (MACC) donated Tie-In consultation for the demolition and construction of a beautiful custom modular cape for George and Joyce Merit. Both owners, George Banks and Nicholas Gikas are Danvers natives and wanted to help out in any way they could.

This house was designed by MACC as well. Please note that George and Joyce Merrit only needed first floor living and sleeping so a cape code style house was the best choice.

BEFORE: This may not look like a house needing to be demolished but the explosion actually lifted the house off the foundation and shifted it by 1 foot, thus condemning the structure. The lally columns and beams were compromised.

AFTER: Notice the beautiful view and wonderful way the house fits in the lot. This house is right on the Danvers River and we wanted to maximize the views. The kitchen, living room (with fireplace) and dining room all have views of the Danvers River.
